Why We Need More Real Conversations (and Fewer Perfect Answers)

In this world of social media vomit, have you ever noticed how easy it is to stay connected... yet still feel alone?
We text. We email. We leave comments for “reach” and to appease the ubiquitous algorithm. We doom scroll through everyone else's highlight reel while quietly wondering if we're the only ones questioning what's next.
The truth is, many of us are seeking answers to questions that we rarely say out loud.
Should I change careers?
Is this relationship still serving me?
Why do I feel restless when everything appears fine?
Is it too late to start over?
What if I don't know what I want anymore?
When will this grief end?
Those aren't questions that can be answered by a motivational quote, a podcast, or a 30-second social media clip. They deserve conversation. Not because someone has all the answers – I certainly do not. Talking honestly has a way of helping us hear ourselves more clearly.
Why do real conversations matter?
Throughout my years as a coach, I've discovered that people often don't need another expert telling them what to do. They need someone willing to ask the right questions. Someone to listen. They need permission to think out loud. Speak freely. They need to know they aren't the only ones navigating uncertainty. They are not alone.
This is why I created Coffee With Ms. D.
Not as another webinar. Not as another networking event. Not as another place where people feel pressure to perform.
Instead, I wanted to create a monthly conversation where people could simply show up. Bring your coffee. Bring your tea. Bring your questions. Or simply come and listen.
Some months, we'll talk about career transitions. In other months, we'll explore relationships, confidence, boundaries, people-pleasing, identity, grief, or what it means to begin again. You are also invited to suggest a topic you might be having trouble with.
There won't be perfect answers. There probably won't be perfect coffee either. Well, mine will be close – I grind my own beans and make a fresh pot of French press daily.
Joking aside, my hope is that every person leaves feeling a little less alone and a little more confident about their next step. Because sometimes the most important thing we can do isn't solve the entire problem. Sometimes it's simply having the conversation we've been avoiding, surrounded by a supportive community.
If that sounds like something you've been looking for, I'd love to save you a seat at Coffee With Ms. D. Because your next chapter doesn't begin when you have everything figured out.
It begins the moment you decide to join the conversation.
